Boris Returns, and Offends, and my World Returns to Normal
I love this guy. He makes my day right. My world is in order whenever I discover he's offended another lot or another hamlet. This is the Boris we know and love. May Boris be with you.
Step .01 to Solving the Iran Crisis
It seems that the dear leader wants to have a low-level diplomatic presence in Tehran. Good, maybe Fisky helped? One can only hope.
How to Protect the Sanctity of Marriage
California recently legalised gay marriage, but, as expected, some of our more devolved neighbours have put a proposition on the ballot banning marriage in the name of protecting the sanctity of marriage. Sanctity of marriage? I'm not yet married, but I would think that divorce is a bigger threat to marriage than letting the two homosexuals up the street tie the knot. Thanks for keeping us up to date, SFist.
Is Camelot Timeless?
With SFist reporting that the last son of Joe Kennedy in politics has brain cancer, and alleging that Camelot has ended, Was Camelot supposed to have a fixed start and end? Any of my more literary-inclined readers want to weigh in? Who will be the heir to Kennedy legend?
How to Take the Country Back

It's going to take a movement. It's going to take millions of people to beat back the avalanche of dollars from Washington lobbyists and special interests, who are planning to spend more money than ever to try to own our political process and dictate our policies in Washington. We're not going to play that game. Barack Obama is not taking any contributions from Washington lobbyists or political action committees. We're going to transform the political process by bringing together hundreds of thousands of ordinary Americans in a campaign that's owned by no one but the people. Will you make a donation?
How many Politicians have Blogs Dedicated to People Dreaming About Them?
At least one... this blog's favourite politician and future mayor of London, Boris Johnson. A reader who wishes to remain anonymous alerted me about I dream of Boris, a site dedicated to "Real dreams people have had about Boris Johnson". I'd like my readers to contribute some stories to it, as I know you lot are (at least) as big of a fan of Johnson as I am.
Boris Serious? Say it ain't So! :(
From Boriswatch, via the Telegraph:
It has been a remarkable evolution. Boris Johnson has spent most of his life being the court jester, deploying his formidable intellect to comic rather than serious effect. Unable or unwilling to be bound by the grey, risk-averse conventions of modern politics, he is by nature a chancer, a man who cannot fail to detect the absurdity in any situation, even when it involves him. This makes him terribly popular with friends, colleagues, lovers and a good part of the general public, but not with the Conservative spin doctors who must clean up the battlefield after he has moved on to other conquests.
Noooo!!!! Well, the irony of a serious Boris has not been lost on the paper, at least:
Just one gaffe - just one - and back comes the order: terminate subject with extreme prejudice.David Cameron as the Terminator? I abhor the possibility!
